Step 2: Prepare the Pen

• Remove the pen cap.
• Attach the needle. Twist on a new needle (for pens that need them).
• Prime the pen. A quick prime ensures the pen is ready. You’ll see a drop of medicine at the tip of the needle.
• Set your dose. Turn the dial to your prescribed dose.

Step 3: Inject

• Place the pen firmly against the chosen spot on your skin.
• Press the button and hold it down.
• The medicine will be delivered in seconds. Wait for the dose counter to return to zero or for the injection to finish.

Step 4: Finish Up

• Remove the pen from your skin.
• Carefully dispose of the used needle or the entire pen in a sharps container.
